Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
JOB GOAL
The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources will be responsible for managing and providing effective leadership, coordination, and direction in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all personnel practices. The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources will also be responsible for improving leader effectiveness in an effort to improve a school's leadership, culture, systems, structures, for the purpose of ensuring student academic growth.
QUALIFICATIONS

Current Arizona Superintendent Certificate at the time of application

Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience required

Leadership experience in a role that requires understanding of effective teaching practices, school administration, and improvement planning.

Successful elementary (K-8) experience as a building principal preferred.

Active involvement within professional organization(s) and committees.

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
-
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

Supports the goals, objectives, strategies, and programs of the District.
-
Develop and implement a comprehensive district-wide talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit, and retain highly qualified educations, administrators, and support staff.

Design systems to ensure equitable and efficient hiring practices across all schools and department.
-
Maintains and updates a complete file of job descriptions in the District.
-
Analyze workforce data and labor market trends to anticipate staffing needs and guide recruitment initiatives.
-
Establish and maintain partnership with universities and educator preparation programs.
-
Promote the District for future educators through coordinating a district-wide student teaching, internship, and residency placement programs.

Oversees the employee life-cycle in programs such as New Teacher Induction Week, routine engagement surveys, and exit interviews.

Serves as a leadership coach for school principals to strengthen instructional leadership, staff development, and school culture.

Develop tools, trainings, and resources that strengthen principal capacity in effective leadership.

Regularly reports and makes recommendations to the Superintendent on policies, practices, and procedures for continuous improvement of District programs.

Attends Superintendent's meetings and serves actively to improve communication, cooperation, and planning in the District.

Oversees legal assistance in the drafting of legal documents, board policy, rules and regulations, resolutions, applications of diverse kinds and other legal memos of understandings upon request.

Engages in advocating, promoting, and securing the rights of all persons with particular reference to employees of the District.

Oversees the process of complaints regarding alleged or suspected unlawful employment practice.

Oversees a communication system for keeping all stakeholders informed about Human Resource compliance/policies within schools and the District.

Plans, develops, and revises personnel policies in accordance with state law for submission to the Board for adoption.

Oversees and recommends all assignments, transfers, resignations and dismissals of personnel to the Governing Board.

Knowledge of Employment and School District Federal, State, and Local Laws.

Knowledge of national, state, and district standards and trends concerning instructional methods, resources, and strategies.

Knowledge in areas such as mentoring and site-based leadership management to ensure alignment of District curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs.

Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with all stakeholders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions

Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg contracts require exertion of forces greater than the sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
