Assistant/Floater Teacher

7 Steps Learning Academy is a private preschool and Childcare Center that provides a quality educational childcare experience. We are looking for a reliable and adaptable Breaker to support our teaching team. You will be the "hero of the day," stepping into various classrooms (infants through pre-k) to cover teacher breaks and ensure our high standards of care and supervision never skip a beat. This is a great role for someone who loves variety and enjoys working with all age groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Coverage: Transition seamlessly between classrooms to provide 15-minute and 30/60-minute breaks for staff while maintaining legal child-to-teacher ratios.
• Active Engagement: Jump into ongoing activities, lead a quick storytime, or assist with a craft to keep children engaged during the lead teacher's absence.
• Daily Care: Assist with mealtimes, diaper changes, and naptime routines as needed for each specific age group.
• Team Support: Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization during transitions.
• Safety: Maintain strict supervision and follow all center safety protocols and licensing requirements.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Previous experience in a licensed childcare facility is a major plus.
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn different classroom routines and child names.
• Teamwork: Ability to work with all teachers and classroom structures
• Physical Ability: Able to stand for long periods and move between low (floor) and high positions quickly.
• Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days).
