R

esponsibilities P

roject management, technical leadership and timely delivery of technical outputs from inception to completion with a range of internal ME colleagues including: A

  • ct as the ‘face’ of the India-based Roads & Highways team L
  • ocal health and safety, welfare, risk, information security, and assessment/compliance P
  • roject, programme and financial management P
  • romote WSP Vision and Values A
  • ctively promote the ME GCC culture within the team and ensure that the staff deliver on promises I
  • nterfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams M
  • anage the team and processes to ensure the preparation and checking of documents, reports and other technical outputs/deliverables from a variety of Highways-related disciplines meet internal and client requirements and quality assurance standards. P
  • rovide highly visible, inspirational leadership and direction for the GCC ME Roads & Highways team, ensuring that it is aligned with the wider ME business M
  • entoring team members towards professional accreditation or equivalent C
  • arry out and report on staff appraisals and performance development reviews R
  • ecruitment to achieve budgeted and programmed team growth M
  • onitor and review team capability in the use of the required standards, processes, software tools, and, with technical colleagues, identify training required I
  • dentify opportunities to upskill existing technical resources or recruit new capabilities to deliver additional services or enhance existing ones I
  • dentify further skills that could be brought into the GCC, India to deliver additional services or enhancements to various businesses E
  • nsuring that the Business Management System is implemented and maintained S
  • eek regular feedback on team performances, ensure criticisms are positively converted into opportunities for improvement D
  • evelop/maintain excellent relationships, ensuring repeat business and client satisfaction, internally and externally C
  • ontribution to bids and marketing material C
  • ontribute to the design of operational processes, systems, quality measurement processes, and achievement of KPIs E
  • nsure process and governance such that all projects comply with Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance Standards. C
  • arry out audits of adherence to WSP Management and Quality processes and implement corrective measures where required C

  • ou should be able to demonstrate a proven working knowledge of the Design Standards practiced across the ME and experience of at least 5 years in ME highway design (onshore or offshore) T
  • rack record of senior technical experience in at least one Highways discipline. E
  • xcellent communication, internal client handling, interpersonal skills and listening skills with the ability to influence and interact with people C
  • omfortable leading internal engineering discussions and the experience and ability to understand, evaluate and explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical professionals T
  • echnical manager with management acumen and strong leadership skills O

  • hard-working self-starter with initiative and ability to work within a team environment U
  • nderstand own strengths and impact, adapting behaviour according to different situations and individuals A

  • uccessful track record of delivery of large detail design projects in the Highways sector within the context of a professional services provider T

  • he candidate should be aware of current and emerging technologies relevant to the highways sector E
  • xperience of liaison with clients, co-professionals, and design teams E

ualifications E

  • ducated to Bachelor's / Master’s degree level in a highways-related discipline such as Civil Engineering. C
  • hartered Engineer status of a recognised professional institution. (e.g. ICE, CIHT) S
  • easoned professional with at least with 20 years’ experience in design, project management, project delivery or in leadership in a consulting engineering environment
