Associate QA Engineer

Role Description

Eocean Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a full-time, on-site Associate QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our web, mobile, and backend systems. The role involves executing manual and automated tests, validating APIs and databases, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with Development, Product, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing test documentation, validating end-to-end user journeys, supporting automation efforts, and ensuring adherence to quality standards before each release.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including manual, regression, smoke, sanity, and UI/UX testing
• Hands-on experience designing and executing manual test cases based on functional and technical requirements
• Basic experience with automation testing tools (WebdriverIO preferred) and contributing to automated smoke and regression suites
• Good understanding of REST APIs, API workflows, and hands-on experience with tools such as Postman or cURL
• Ability to validate API responses, status codes, payloads, headers, and authentication mechanisms
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries for database validation and data integrity checks
• Familiarity with defect tracking, test management, and version control tools such as JIRA and Git
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in manual and basic automation testing is an advantage
