Job Description
The Role
Checkout.com is actively looking for a driven and agile Associate, Reconciliations to join our newly formed treasury team in Mauritius.
Working as part of our Treasury function, you'll support the reconciliations of Payment Gateway (Schemes/APM) as well as Safeguarding / Client Fund Segregation transactions. Evolving in a high-pace and multifaceted environment, meticulous attention to detail will be key. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, laser-focused and highly organized individual, not shying away from high volume of work. You must be a teammate when it comes to getting the job done and assisting wherever you can.
What you’ll be doing
Reconcile Checkout.com's payment gateway processing across multiple bank accounts and providers.
Connect with internal and external partners to resolve queries in an effective and timely manner.
Identify discrepancies, the respective root causes, and take action to eliminate and prevent any such in perspective.
Perform safeguarding reconciliation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Identify and resolve safeguarding issues in a timely manner.
Develop and implement controls to optimize safeguarding and reconciliation processes.
Support the implementation of reconciliation systems (internal, external).
Perform automation work and support new product projects alongside cross-functional teams.
Improve processes, while maintaining robust controls.
Be an SME in reconciliations, systems and tools of online payment transactions, apply commanding knowledge of clearing and settlement processes to balance priorities in project delivery.
Support Reconciliation leadership with ad-hoc tasks (including. reconciliation sign-offs) and regular critical metric dashboards.
Assist with training of junior staff and updating process documentation.
Support the team on audits both internal and external.
Continually develop skills and knowledge in line with business growth and expansion.
Qualifications
3-5 years of work experience in high-volume transaction reconciliation
A university degree in a numerical subject with a strong academic record
Very good knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas, PowerQuery, or VBA.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with large data sets with confidence.
Knowledge of Card Schemes, Alternative Payment Methods, or Payin/Payout solutions.
The ability to write SQL queries, Java scripts, and a good working knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, and Macros are an added advantage.
A consistent track record of finding end-to-end solutions to issues and collaborating with cross-functional and remote teams.
The ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment with often shifting priorities.
The ability to self-manage individual projects of high complexity and automate manual tasks.
Experience building relationships with key partner groups to achieve business outcomes and improve process efficiency.
English proficiency and excellent communication skills at all levels.
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Controls is a plus.
