A leading Northern Virginia law firm based in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced Corporate Attorney with expertise in data privacy and commercial contracts . The ideal candidate will thrive in a hybrid work environment and contribute to providing exceptional legal services to clients across industries.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic counsel on data privacy compliance matters, including adherence to local, state, federal, and international regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts , including purchase agreements, supply contracts, partnership agreements, and service agreements.
• Advise clients on regulatory matters related to data security and privacy laws.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage legal issues related to data breaches, ensuring preventative measures are in place.
• Develop internal policies and training materials for businesses regarding data governance and privacy.
• Collaborate with clients on corporate transactions while mitigating legal risks during contract negotiations and execution.
• Research and interpret new laws and regulations that impact corporate business activities.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar license in Virginia (or ability to waive in).
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience as a corporate attorney specializing in data privacy and commercial contracts .
• Expertise in data privacy laws and regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or similar.
• Proven track record of effectively managing and negotiating high-level commercial contracts.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to distill complex legal concepts into actionable advice for clients.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment and balance on-site client needs with remote tasks.
• Strong analytical skills with detail orientation and sound judgment.
