Job Summary

Smart Motor in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Purchaser to manage the procurement of all necessary automotive parts and supplies. This role is critical for ensuring a continuous, cost-effective, and timely supply of high-quality components, with a strong focus on American, German, Japanese,.. models. The goal is to support the workshop operations and minimize vehicle downtime across our diverse customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-Brand Procurement: Source, select, and purchase genuine (OEM) and high-quality aftermarket automotive parts for a wide range of vehicles, primarily focusing on American (e.g., Ford, GM, Jeep), German (e.g., BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi), Japanese (e.g., Toyota, Nissan, Honda), and other European (e.g., Land Rover, Porsche, Volvo) makes and models.
  • Specialized Sourcing: Develop expertise in locating parts for specific vehicle systems common to these origins.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels tailored to the demand of these key vehicle brands, ensuring the availability of fast-moving items while optimizing stock value.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with specialized local and international suppliers, authorized dealers, and distributors for each major brand origin to secure the best pricing and reliable supply chains.
  • Cost Efficiency & Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve the best value. Identify and evaluate alternative quality suppliers for specific vehicle lines to mitigate reliance on single sources.
  • Workshop Support: Communicate effectively with technicians regarding specific brand-related parts issues, part numbering systems, delays, and technical specifications to facilitate efficient workflow across all vehicle types.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of all purchases and ensure procurement activities comply with company policies .

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in parts purchasing or procurement within the automotive repair, dealership, or spare parts industry.
  • Automotive Knowledge (Crucial): In-depth, demonstrated knowledge of parts, technical terminology, and component differences across American, German, Japanese, and other major European vehicle manufacturers.
