Position Overview
The Automotive Team Leader is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team while ensuring Mercedes-Benz standards for quality, performance, and customer experience are consistently met. This role combines hands-on leadership with operational accountability, driving excellence in safety, efficiency, and brand representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of automotive professionals to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Mercedes-Benz quality standards, processes, and compliance requirements
- Monitor productivity, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- Coach team members through regular feedback, performance reviews, and on-the-job training
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical, operational, or personnel issues
- Enforce safety standards, housekeeping, and regulatory compliance at all times
- Collaborate with management, service advisors, production managers, or sales leadership to align team output with business objectives
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top talent within the team
- Analyze KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective action plans
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, leadership, and Mercedes-Benz brand values
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in an automotive leadership or supervisory role
- Strong technical or operational understanding of automotive processes (service, manufacturing, or sales, depending on environment)
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Proficiency with dealership or production management systems and reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Mercedes-Benz brand experience or OEM-level automotive experience
- Formal leadership or management training
- Relevant automotive certifications or trade qualifications
- Experience working with KPIs, lean processes, or continuous improvement initiatives
