AV Production Manager & Supervisor

Audio Visual (AV) Production Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of AV projects, from initial client consultation and budgeting to on-site technical execution for live events or installations. They are responsible for managing teams of technicians, ensuring high-quality audio-visual output, and coordinating equipment logistics. This role requires strong technical knowledge, client relationship management, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities

• Project Management & Planning: Develop project proposals, scope of work, and budgets for AV projects.
• Technical Coordination: Oversee the installation, setup, and operation of audio-visual equipment (lighting, video projection, sound).
• On-Site Execution: Manage onsite production for events to ensure they meet client expectations, providing technical support as needed.
• Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and schedule internal technicians and freelance staff.
• Logistics & Troubleshooting: Manage AV equipment inventory, perform maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Client Relations: Consult with clients to define requirements, manage expectations, and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: Proven experience in live event production, staging, or AV project management.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of AV technology, including audio systems, video switching, and lighting equipment.
• Leadership: Strong communication and team-management skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
• Budgeting: Ability to manage project costs and create detailed quotes.
• Education: A degree in audio/visual production or a related field is often required, along with potential industry certifications.

Common Tasks

• Conducting site visits to determine technical needs.
• Reviewing and managing video pre-production and post-production workflows.
• Coordinating with facility managers and vendors.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards during setup.
