AV Systems CAD Engineer

Polymedia is currently seeking a talented and experienced CAD Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the design and engineering of complex Audio Visual Technologies-based Systems Integration Projects. The CAD Design Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed system design documents and architectural shop drawings using AutoCAD, with a preferable focus on producing Building Information Modeling (BIM) drawings for our projects.

Job Duties:

• Support site surveys, take accurate field measurements, and capture photo/video records
• Prepare initial CAD layouts/drawings based on survey data and project requirements
• Produce coordinated shop drawings, including plans, sections, and elevations
• Develop cable routing/cable path drawings, line diagrams, and rack elevations
• Create detailed electrical and network drawings, including layouts, connectivity, and termination details
• Coordinate and prepare metal support/structural drawings for LED screen installations
• Issue and update as-built drawings to reflect final installed conditions
• Compile Owner’s and User manuals and handover documentation
• Undertakes responsibilities for the development of discipline-specific engineering calculations, carries out modeling duties, coordinates with modeling teams, and ensures full integration of modeling information with other disciplines.
• Undertakes self-checking initiatives while maintaining quality control of junior engineers and/or subcontractors work and ensuring adherence to all relevant design criteria and standards.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending relevant workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Establishes and maintains credible, professional relationships with internal business lines and external vendors.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering with three-five years of CAD or BIM Modeling experience in medium- to large-scale Audio-Visual Projects.
• A proven practical background in design visualization applications like Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD is mandatory.
• Candidates with working experience and familiarity with vendors like Crestron, Extron, Atlona, Absen, Televic, Barco, Bose, Logitech, Polycom, Cisco, Epson, and Panasonic are preferred.
• Candidates with an understanding of the MEP and ELV systems are preferred.
• Candidates with a UAE driving license are preferred.
