Job Summary:
COTHM is seeking a skilled and experienced Professional Baking Chef/Instructor for its Sarai Alamgir Campus, to delivering high-quality baking education while maintaining excellence in pastry and bakery production. This role involves demonstrating advanced baking techniques, and overseeing the daily operations of the training kitchen to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching students the fundamentals of baking, including dough preparation, fermentation, pastry arts, cake decoration, and artisan bread making.
- Designing and updating lesson plans, recipes, and training modules to reflect current industry standards and seasonal trends.
- Evaluating student performance through practical exams, taste tests, and theoretical assessments, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Managing the end-to-end production of baked goods for the institution.
- Overseeing the procurement of high-quality ingredients, manage stock levels, and minimize waste through efficient portion control.
- Ensuring all specialized equipment (deck ovens, proofers, planetary mixers) is operated correctly and maintained regularly.
- Maintaining food safety standards rigorously within the kitchen.
- Supervising deep-cleaning schedules and ensure all students/staff adhere to personal hygiene and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a baking chef/instructor.
- Relevant diploma or certification (preferred).
- Minimum qualification shall be intermediate.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations and work under pressure.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Creative approach to menu planning and presentation.
- Strong communication skills.
