Job Summary
The Banquet Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all banquet and event operations to ensure smooth execution, high-quality service, and customer satisfaction. The role involves coordinating with clients, supervising staff, managing logistics, and maintaining service standards during events.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Coordination
- Plan and execute banquets, conferences, weddings, corporate events, and social functions.
- Coordinate with clients regarding event requirements, menus, seating, décor, and timelines.
- Conduct pre-event meetings and ensure all arrangements are finalized
- Operations Management
- Oversee banquet setup, service, and breakdown operations.
- Ensure events start and end as per schedule.
- Monitor service quality during events and resolve guest issues promptly.
- Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise banquet staff.
- Allocate duties and ensure proper grooming and discipline.
- Motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service.
- Food & Beverage Coordination
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for menu execution and timely service.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Monitor portion control and minimize wastage.
- Inventory & Cost Control
- Manage banquet equipment, linen, crockery, and décor inventory.
- Control costs and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Maintain records of event expenses and revenues
- Client Relations & Sales Support
- Build strong relationships with clients and ensure repeat business.
- Assist sales and marketing teams in banquet sales and promotions.
- Handle feedback, complaints, and post-event follow-ups.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in banquet areas.
- Skills & Qualification
- Graduate or Diploma in Hotel Management / Hospitality preferred.
- Proven experience as a Banquet Manager or similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good knowledge of food & beverage service standards.
- Ability to handle pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Flexible to work long hours, weekends, and holidays
- Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of POS systems and event management software.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused approach with attention to details
