Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Banquet Manager to lead our banquet operations with enthusiasm and professionalism at the Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and coordination of banquet events, including menu selection, setup, service flow, and breakdown.
- Supervise and train banquet staff to ensure outstanding customer service, food handling, and safety standards.
- Manage inventory control for banquet supplies, linens, tableware, and food products to prevent waste and optimize costs.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation in accordance with quality standards and dietary requirements.
- Utilize CI/TY for billing, and cash handling with accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation protocols throughout all stages of event execution.
- Collaborate with kitchen management to coordinate food production schedules for multiple events simultaneously.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure guest satisfaction at all times.
- Monitor shift management activities including staffing levels, scheduling, and delegation of duties to maximize efficiency.
- Conduct staff training sessions on hospitality best practices, food service management, and new procedures.
- Assist in budgeting efforts by controlling costs related to supplies, labor, and food production while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2+ years as a Banquet Captain
- CI/TY Experience is a must
- Proven experience in food service management within a quick service & fast food restaurant or fine dining environment; banquet experience is highly preferred.
- Strong supervisory skills with a background in team management, staff training & development, and interviewing candidates.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary practices, and food safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage inventory control effectively in a high-volume setting.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality management principles.
- Experience in shift management, kitchen management, catering operations, or hotel experience is advantageous.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
