Bartender

State Line Distillery is a grain-to-glass distillery located in the heart of Madison, Wisconsin. We are a small, hardworking team that brings our passion for our craft to work every day. Our focus is on distilling the highest quality grain-to-glass spirits, supporting our community, and delivering thoughtful original and classic cocktails to customers who visit our cocktail lounge.

We are looking for an enthusiastic bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. Good bartenders will be knowledgeable about spirits as well as classic and original cocktails. They will meet customers’ needs and expectations with excellent service and the ability to craft unique cocktails on the fly. They will cultivate a sense of curiosity about craft cocktails and strive toward continual learning and improvement. Compensation includes hourly and tips.

Responsibilities

• Prepare craft cocktails and all other drinks for bar patrons
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Prep ingredients to mix cocktails
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Bar setup, cleaning, and closing

Skills

• Computer literacy
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Drive for continual learning and curiosity
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
• 2 years craft bartending experience, can meet those requirements as a barback at State Line
