Position Title: Bartender
Location: Whiskey Distillery Tasting Room
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Overview:
We’re looking for an energetic, knowledgeable bartender to join our distillery tasting room team. The ideal candidate is passionate about craft whiskey, delivers excellent hospitality, and brings personality to the bar—especially if you appreciate the neon vibes of 80s pop culture and the timeless influence of Wu-Tang Clan. This role combines classic bartending skills with brand storytelling, helping guests connect with the craft, history, and flavor behind every bottle.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience

• Welcome guests to the tasting room and create a friendly, engaging environment.
• Guide customers through whiskey tastings, explaining flavor profiles, mash bills, and distillation processes.
• Recommend cocktails, pours, and bottle purchases based on guest preferences.
• Maintain a fun, memorable bar atmosphere—whether the soundtrack leans toward synth-heavy 80s hits or classic hip-hop.

Bartending & Service

• Prepare and serve whiskey cocktails, neat pours, and tasting flights according to distillery standards.
• Maintain knowledge of all house spirits, seasonal cocktails, and featured products.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and verify IDs when required.
• Accurately process orders, payments, and tabs through the POS system.

Daily Operational Tasks

• Open and set up the bar area (stocking glassware, prepping garnishes, setting up tasting stations).
• Prepare cocktail ingredients including syrups, bitters, and fresh garnishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, tasting room, and service areas.
• Restock whiskey bottles, mixers, glassware, and merchandise as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
• Assist with bottle sales, merchandise displays, and guest checkout.
• Perform end-of-shift duties including bar breakdown, cleaning equipment, and closing reports.

Brand & Culture

• Share the story of the distillery, production process, and unique whiskey offerings with guests.
• Help create themed experiences or events that celebrate whiskey culture, music, and retro vibes.
• Contribute to a welcoming team environment and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred.
• Knowledge of whiskey or willingness to learn about distillation and flavor profiles.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service.
• Appreciation for good music, good whiskey, and a little old-school attitude is a plus.
