Bartender

Position Summary

El Jefe’s Grill is seeking an experienced Bartender who can craft high-quality cocktails and deliver an excellent guest experience. This role requires strong knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, the ability to make drinks from scratch, and a focus on speed, consistency, and presentation. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Drink Preparation

• Prepare high-quality cocktails, margaritas, and specialty drinks from scratch.
• Follow house recipes and maintain consistency in flavor, portioning, and presentation.
• Maintain strong knowledge of spirits, tequila, mezcal, beer, and wine.

Guest Experience

• Provide friendly and professional service to guests at the bar.
• Make recommendations and educate guests on drinks and menu offerings.
• Create a welcoming and energetic bar atmosphere.

Bar Operations

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar.
• Prep fresh ingredients such as juices, syrups, and garnishes.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs.

Quality & Compliance

• Follow all liquor laws and ID verification requirements.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards.

Team Support

• Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Assist with opening and closing duties including bar setup and breakdown.
• Support the team during busy service periods.

Qualifications

• 2+ years bartending experience in a restaurant or bar setting.
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails and scratch cocktail preparation.
• Experience working with tequila and mezcal preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred

• Experience with craft cocktails and fresh ingredients.
• Experience in a high-energy restaurant environment.

Compensation

• Hourly wage plus tips
