Bartender (Seasonal)

We are looking bartenders to join our team!

A bartender at Essex County Club is expected to provide exceptional service to our members and their guests in both bar and dining room settings. The ideal candidate acts in the best interest of the club and the member, goes above and beyond to enhance the member experience, has a strong interest in food and beverage, and is a reliable team player.

Position Details

• Job Title: Bartender
• Location: Essex County Club – Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA
• Compensation: From $20.00 per hour
• Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
• Work Location: In person

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

• Complete opening and closing side work in a timely fashion.
• Greet members and guests by name in a professional, courteous manner.
• Cross-train to understand and support floor service as needed.
• Understand and sell food and beverage menus, including daily specials, and communicate knowledgeably about ingredients, allergies, and substitutions.
• Prepare and serve cocktails and bar beverages to club standards.
• Perform wine service and offer thoughtful beverage recommendations.
• Accurately enter orders and process payments using the POS system.
• Open and close the bar, including restocking products and supplies throughout the shift.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Work cooperatively with all front-of-house and back-of-house employees.
• Adhere to the club’s appearance and grooming standards.
• Handle guest compliments and complaints professionally, communicating feedback to management.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food and beverage, with strong cocktail and bar service skills.
• Prior bartending experience required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; able to speak and write English fluently.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule, including availability Wednesday through Sunday, weekends, holidays, and a mix of day and evening shifts.
