The Bartender/Server is responsible for delivering the highest quality food and beverage service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This includes taking and delivering guest orders, ensuring accuracy, and processing payments promptly.
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in a hotel, restaurant, or food & beverage setting preferred.
Must meet the minimum legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit, as required by local or state regulations.
Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Medium physical work: Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
Must be able to stand and walk for the entire shift.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Strong listening and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Basic math and financial handling skills.
Greet all guests and team members in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, including a clean uniform and nametag.
Describe menu items, preparation methods, and pricing accurately.
Handle special guest requests professionally and coordinate with the kitchen when necessary.
Upsell menu items and specials to maximize revenue.
Serve food and beverages promptly and according to service standards.
Perform opening and closing side work, including stocking service stations and preparing beverages.
Handle guest payments and ensure accuracy in processing and returning change.
Support fellow team members by assisting with seating, clearing tables, and refilling beverages.
Respond promptly and positively to guest requests; follow up to ensure satisfaction.
Maintain full knowledge of menu offerings, hotel facilities, and restaurant operations.
Follow loss prevention procedures and safety standards.
Assist with the creation of specialty drinks and menu updates.
Properly clear and reset tables, ensuring clean and organized dining areas.
Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, including fire exits and use of extinguishers.
Adhere to alcohol awareness and sanitation regulations at all times.
