BIM Manager

The Arabian Construction Company is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented BIM Manager with a strong and proven managerial background to lead and drive the strategic adoption and effective management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies across our diverse portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 15 years of substantial experience within the construction industry, with a significant and demonstrable focus on BIM implementation and management, coupled with a strong track record of successfully leading and managing teams. Expert proficiency in Revit is a critical requirement for this role.


Responsibilities:


  • Strategic BIM Leadership and Management: Develop, refine, and implement the company's overarching BIM strategy, standards, and workflows, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, technological advancements, and client expectations. Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to the BIM department and project teams.
  • Project-Specific BIM Oversight and Team Management: Lead the development and execution of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for individual projects, guaranteeing adherence to company protocols and project-specific requirements. Effectively manage and supervise project-based BIM teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Team Development, Mentorship, and Performance Management: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to project-based BIM teams, offering expert guidance, comprehensive training, and ongoing support to maximize their effectiveness in utilizing BIM tools and processes. Conduct regular training initiatives to elevate the BIM proficiency of all relevant project personnel. Implement performance management strategies to ensure team accountability and growth.
  • Advanced Model Management and Coordination: Oversee the creation, meticulous maintenance, and seamless coordination of intricate BIM models across all relevant disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.), ensuring exceptional levels of accuracy, completeness, and proactive clash detection. Manage the model coordination process and ensure effective information exchange.
  • Robust Data Management and Quality Assurance: Establish and rigorously enforce comprehensive data management protocols to guarantee the integrity, accuracy, and effortless accessibility of all BIM data throughout the entire project lifecycle. Implement and manage regular, thorough model audits and stringent quality control measures.
  • Effective Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Foster seamless communication and robust collaboration among all project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, leveraging BIM-centric workflows and transparent information exchange. Effectively manage relationships with key stakeholders regarding BIM implementation.
  • Technology Evaluation and Resource Management: Proactively evaluate, strategically recommend, and efficiently manage all BIM-related software and hardware resources, with a strong emphasis on Revit, Navisworks, and other pertinent industry-standard platforms. Manage budgets and resources effectively within the BIM department. Remain at the forefront of emerging BIM technologies and industry trends.
  • Proactive Problem Solving and Innovation: Identify and resolve complex BIM-related challenges effectively, develop innovative solutions to continuously optimize BIM processes, and actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the company's overall BIM capabilities. Foster a culture of innovation within the BIM team.
  • Strategic Risk Mitigation: Leverage the power of BIM to proactively identify potential design and construction conflicts and implement effective strategies for early risk mitigation. Develop and implement risk management strategies within the BIM framework.
  • Comprehensive Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed BIM documentation, including comprehensive standards, efficient workflows, and established best practices. Prepare regular and insightful reports for management on BIM implementation progress, performance metrics, and return on investment.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience within the construction industry, with a significant and demonstrable focus on BIM management and successful implementation on substantial projects, including at least 5 years in a direct managerial role overseeing BIM teams and processes.
  • Expert-level proficiency and extensive hands-on experience with Revit for advanced modeling, comprehensive documentation, and seamless collaborative workflows.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to effectively lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams.
  • A strong track record of successfully building, mentoring, and managing high-performing BIM teams.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
