Role: BIM Manager

Reporting Line

  • Reports to: Project Manager
  • Interfaces with: Design Manager, Technical Director, Discipline Managers, QA/QC Manager, Planning & Controls Engineer
  • Leads: All BIM Coordinators and BIM Support Functions

Purpose of the Role

  • To establish, manage, and control the overall BIM strategy and implementation , ensuring all disciplines deliver coordinated, compliant, and high-quality LOD 350 IFC BIM models in line with project requirements, programme, and international BIM standards.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Strategy & Governance

  • Develop, implement, and enforce the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
  • Define BIM workflows, modelling standards, naming conventions, and CDE processes
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 and client-specific BIM requirements

BIM Coordination & Integration

  • Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination across Architecture, Structure, MEP, Infrastructure, Interior, Façade, and Traffic
  • Oversee federated model coordination and clash detection processes
  • Resolve high-impact BIM coordination issues in collaboration with Design and Discipline Managers

BIM Quality Control (LOD 350)

  • Ensure all BIM models are developed consistently to LOD 350
  • Implement BIM QA/QC checks prior to IFC submissions
  • Approve BIM models and federated files for client and authority issuance

Programme & Resource Management

  • Coordinate BIM deliverables with the design programme and project milestones
  • Manage BIM resources, task allocation, and workload across disciplines
  • Support fast-track delivery within the 35-day project duration

Client, Authority & Digital Delivery Support

  • Act as the primary BIM interface with the Client and Authorities
  • Support authority submissions requiring IFC BIM models
  • Lead BIM-related workshops, reviews, and progress reporting

Key Deliverables

  • Approved BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
  • Coordinated federated BIM models at LOD 350
  • IFC-ready BIM submissions and coordination reports

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or BIM-related discipline
  • Proven experience as a BIM Manager on multi-discipline projects
  • Strong knowledge of LOD, IFC, ISO 19650, and CDE workflows
  • Experience managing BIM delivery on fast-track projects
