Role Purpose
The BIM Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing, reviewing, and coordinating detailed mechanical building services models using BIM software, ensuring alignment with project requirements, design specifications, and construction standards. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate, clash-free, and constructible mechanical designs.
Key Accountabilities

Participate in implementing technical office policies and procedures.

Study the project contract documents (time schedule, project design drawings, BOQ, etc.).

Update the shop drawing log before sending the shop drawing to the consultant for approval.

Study and prepare requests for information (RFIs) for all missing, unclear, conflicting, or other technical matters that may arise during construction.

Review sub-contractors’ shop drawings as well as outsourced shop drawings (if any) and coordinate their approval process with the project consultant.

Participate in solving/reporting any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise during construction to the Technical Office Senior engineer for discussion and proper solution.

Prepare as-built drawings at the end of the project and handover to the project consultant.

Professional use of BIM authoring and BIM Tools to create complete and accurate information models. Hence to enrich BIM models with crucial data and information.

Run clash detection analyses to identify potential conflicts between different systems.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in BIM for mechanical systems in the construction industry.

Proven experience with BIM software (Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage).

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Understanding of construction processes and MEP installation methods.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650, PAS 1192, etc.) is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
