Position Overview

The BIM MEP Modeler is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate MEP BIM models and production deliverables in accordance with project requirements, BIM Execution Plans, and applicable standards (including ISO 19650). The role supports coordinated design across disciplines and helps ensure models and drawings are suitable for authority submissions and construction delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and update Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting BIM models using Autodesk Revit in line with project standards and required Level of Development (LOD).
• Maintain model integrity, worksharing practices, shared coordinates, and naming conventions as per the BIM Execution Plan and ISO 19650 information management requirements.
• Coordinate with Architecture, Structural, and Infrastructure teams to resolve clashes and design issues using Navisworks (or similar) and support federated model coordination.
• Produce coordinated MEP drawings, details, schedules, and quantities from the model (plans, sections, elevations, and schematics) ensuring drafting quality and consistency.
• Prepare model exports and deliverables (IFC/NWC/DWG/PDF) as required, including model packaging for internal reviews and external stakeholders.
• Support authority submission requirements by aligning model outputs and drawings with relevant UAE codes and authority standards (e.g., DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and other Emirates authorities as applicable).
• Perform BIM QA/QC checks (model audits, parameter checks, and clash status tracking) and implement corrective actions based on feedback from the BIM Lead/Coordinator.
• Develop and manage Revit families/content as required; maintain templates and project libraries to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with design engineers to interpret calculations and design intent, ensuring accurate modelling of systems and interfaces (plant rooms, shafts, risers, and coordination zones).
• Contribute to project meetings, coordination workshops, and internal reporting related to BIM progress and model health.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on BIM modelling experience for MEP systems (preferably within UAE/GCC consultancy or contractor environments).
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP) and Navisworks; working knowledge of AutoCAD and common file exchange formats (DWG, IFC, NWC).
• Good understanding of LOD requirements, BIM coordination workflows, model federation, and issue tracking (e.g., clash reports, RFIs, and coordination logs).
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 concepts, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), information delivery milestones, and common data environments (e.g., ACC/BIM 360 or similar).
• Awareness of UAE authority processes and standards relevant to MEP deliverables (e.g., DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense), including submission-ready drawing expectations.
• Ability to work under deadlines, manage priorities across multiple projects, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Dynamo or scripting knowledge is an advantage.
