BIM Modeler (MEP / Structural / Architectural)

JOB TITLE - ELECTRICAL BIM MODELER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrical BIM Modeler will be responsible for the creation and management of 3D models for electrical systems in high-rise residential and hospitality buildings. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in BIM processes and electrical design, ensuring all electrical components are accurately represented and coordinated within the larger building information model.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarms, data, and security systems) using Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM software.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and MEP team members to ensure the electrical systems are effectively integrated into the overall design of high-rise residential and hospitality projects.
• Generate accurate construction documents, including electrical plans, sections, and details, ensuring all systems are fully coordinated and compliant with project requirements and standards.
• Conduct clash detection using BIM tools (e.g., Navisworks) to identify and resolve conflicts between electrical systems and other building systems (mechanical, plumbing, structural).
• Ensure that electrical system designs comply with local codes, regulations, and sustainability standards for high-rise buildings in Egypt.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure optimal placement and routing of electrical systems, while maintaining efficiency and minimizing disruptions to other building services.
• Assist in the preparation of electrical system specifications, equipment selection, and materials for cost estimation and procurement purposes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and updates to the BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through construction.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet project deadlines, resolve issues, and ensure smooth execution.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and other stakeholders, sharing knowledge of best BIM practices and electrical design standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Electrical BIM modeling, preferably on high-rise residential, hospitality, or large-scale commercial projects.
• Proficiency in BIM software, especially Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, including power distribution, lighting, low voltage systems, and fire alarm systems.
• Experience in clash detection, coordination, and resolving conflicts in a BIM environment.
• Familiarity with local building codes, electrical regulations, and safety standards in Egypt.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and ensure integration across building services.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with various team members and present information effectively.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve design and modeling issues efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on high-rise residential and hospitality projects in Egypt or the MENA region.
• Knowledge of sustainable building design and green certifications (e.g., LEED, EDGE).
• Familiarity with advanced BIM workflows and integration of 4D/5D BIM for scheduling and cost management.
• Additional training or certifications in BIM-related technologies or electrical design software.
