Bookkeeper

Fremont Veterinary Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will maintain accurate financial records, manage accounts payable and receivable, oversee payroll, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Job Overview

You will play a key role in supporting the financial health of the hospital by streamlining processes, assisting with budgeting efforts, and producing precise financial reports. This is a part-time position estimated at 15–25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven payroll processing experience
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks
• Solid understanding of general bookkeeping and accounting principles
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Record and process journal entries using QuickBooks
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking
• Process payroll and assist with tax-related documentation to ensure compliance
• Support budgeting activities by monitoring expenses and preparing variance analysis
• Coordinate with ownership and CPA as needed

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping
• Knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
• Experience with bank reconciliations, account analysis, and financial reporting
• Familiarity with payroll processing, tax documentation, and A/P & A/R management
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in 10-key typing and data entry accuracy
• Strong communication skills for financial reporting and team collaboration
• Veterinary or medical office experience is a plus, but not required
