Bookkeeper (Part-Time, Remote – US Based | Growth Opportunity)

Orion Accounting & Finance is a modern, systems-driven accounting firm supporting growing small and mid-sized businesses.

We do not just categorize transactions.

We build clean, scalable, decision-ready financial systems and partner with leadership teams to help them understand their numbers.

We are looking for a Bookkeeper who wants more than data entry. This role owns client accounts and has clear growth potential based on performance and capability.

What You’ll Do

You will own client bookkeeping and be responsible for accuracy, clarity, and reliability.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for assigned clients
• Perform monthly reconciliations
• Categorize revenue and expenses properly
• Assist with Chart of Accounts structure
• Support payroll and payment platform integrations (Stripe, Gusto, ADP)
• Help prepare monthly financial reports
• Participate in client communications and review meetings
• Maintain organized documentation and financial records

This is a client-facing role. You will build relationships and become a trusted resource.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 1–3+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience OR Accounting degree
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear and professional written communication
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Fluent with Excel / Google Sheets
• US-based (North Carolina preferred)

Preferred (not mandatory):

• QuickBooks Online experience
• Gusto or ADP experience
• Stripe experience
• Experience managing full monthly close

Compensation & Growth

• $18–$22 per hour (based on experience and speed of ownership)
