Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and internal records.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Reconcile accounts through detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation procedures.
- Support payroll processing, including tax calculations and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliation and financial report writing.
- Manage billing, invoicing, and collections while maintaining thorough documentation of all transactions.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations as applicable.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting standards.
- Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and account analysis.
- Skilled in bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed reports accurately.
- Familiarity with tax experience related to business operations is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is advantageous.
