We are a high-end residential interior design studio seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our financial operations on a monthly, part-time basis (10–15 hours). This role is ideal for someone experienced in QuickBooks and Studio Designer who understands the nuances of project-based accounting in the design or construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor accounts
- Categorize transactions and ensure proper job costing
- Maintain chart of accounts tailored to design projects
- Present reports and data each month on financials to COO & CEO
Studio Designer Financial Management
- Reconcile Studio Designer with QuickBooks
- Track client deposits, retainers, and progress payments
- Monitor purchase orders, vendor invoices, and markups
- Ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) and profitability tracking by project
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor bills and schedule payments
- Track outstanding client invoices and assist with collections reporting
- Verify sales tax application where applicable
Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including:
- Profit & Loss
- Balance Sheet
- Project profitability reports
- Provide cash flow visibility and flag any discrepancies
Collaboration
- Work with Principal/Operations team to maintain financial accuracy
- Support CPA at year-end with clean, reconciled books
Qualifications
- Proven bookkeeping experience (3+ years preferred)
- Required: QuickBooks Online proficiency
- Required: Studio Designer experience
- Experience in interior design, construction, or project-based businesses strongly preferred.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and meet monthly deadlines
Schedule & Compensation
- 10–15 hours per month
- Flexible schedule with monthly close deadline
- Hourly rate (based on experience)

Qualifications
- Proficiency in Financial Statements preparation and analysis
- Strong skills in Bookkeeping and experience with Journal Entries (Accounting)
- Hands-on experience with Accounting Software tools
- Solid understanding of Finance principles and practices
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Experience in an on-site role or a similar work environment in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area is a plus
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
