Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team! Duties
- Record and process journal entries using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken to ensure accurate financial data entry.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to maintain up-to-date financial records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prepare financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax preparation, and compliance activities related to governmental accounting standards.
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses against budgets and providing insights for financial planning.
- Ensure double-entry bookkeeping practices are followed meticulously across all transactions to uphold accounting integrity.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with GAAP is essential.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes along with bank reconciliation tasks.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately for data entry tasks and financial record keeping.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account analysis and financial report writing.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and technical accounting procedures is highly desirable.
