Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our (56) year old company. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate should be computer proficient including knowledge of Word, Excel & Outlook. Sage Business Works accounting software is a plus but not necessary. Position also includes managing our rental department, preparing contracts & coordinating deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable by verifying invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining vendor records.
  • Oversee accounts receivable by issuing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
  • Maintain the general ledger & post journal entries.
  • Prepare financial reports including balance sheets & income statements.
  • Process payroll using ADP.
  • Follow month & year end closing procedures.
  • Prepare rental contracts for customers using rental software.
  • Coordinate deliveries & pick-ups of equipment.
  • Pay all taxes to the necessary government agencies
  • Proven experience with accounting software
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Answering the telephone.
  • Ability to perform account analysis accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating across different departments, as well as with vendors and customers.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
