Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Washington Township, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process.
  • Complete tax forms.
  • Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll processing as needed.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
