Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Accounting professional to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. Your expertise in various accounting software and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) will be essential in ensuring precise financial reporting and compliance. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and ledger entries.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Prepare accurate financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct general ledger accounting activities and ensure all transactions are properly recorded with correct debits and credits.
- Support payroll processing by verifying hours worked, calculating wages, and ensuring timely payments.
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards when applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or comparable tools; experience with financial software is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices if applicable.
- Strong skills in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll administration.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting, and financial report writing.
- Attention to detail with the ability to analyze accounts critically and ensure accuracy across all records. Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
