Duties

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure financial integrity across all projects.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation regularly to verify the accuracy of asset, liability, and equity accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections aligned with project timelines.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial tools to record transactions, generate reports, and support financial analysis.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper debits & credits are applied according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Prepare detailed financial reports including budgets, project cost analysis, and cash flow statements to support decision-making.
• Assist with payroll processing, tax preparation, and compliance related to construction projects and governmental regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting within the construction industry or related fields.
• Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools.
• Knowledge of corporate accounting standards as well as non-profit or governmental accounting practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with GAAP principles, double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
• Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account reconciliation, budgeting, and technical accounting procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with experience in 10 key typing and detailed financial report writing.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with project managers, auditors, and vendors. Pay: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour
