Bookkeeper / HR Administrative Assistant

We are a well-established business built on professionalism, trust, and attention to detail. Our team is seeking a dependable and organized Bookkeeper & HR Administrative Assistant to oversee day-to-day financial operations while also handling basic human resources functions. This dual role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, enjoys problem-solving, and can balance numbers with people-focused tasks.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping

  • Record daily financial transactions and reconcile accounts
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Process payroll and maintain payroll records
  • Prepare regular financial reports and assist with month/year-end closing
  • Support tax preparation and compliance with applicable regulations

Human Resources Administration

  • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance enrollment and management
  • Manage workers’ comp and other insurance claims
  • Maintain accurate employee files and HR documentation
  • Assist with job postings, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance with employment policies and labor laws
  • Act as first point of contact for staff regarding HR-related questions

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Office Manager, or similar role
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks (or other accounting software)
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll processing
  • Experience with HR administration and employee benefits management
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in retail, wholesale, or small business environments
  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
