Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper specializing in property management to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support the efficient operation of property portfolios by providing precise financial data and insightful reporting. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations regularly to ensure data accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements tailored to property management needs.
- Handle payroll processing and related tax filings in accordance with governmental regulations.
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial analysis to support property operations and strategic planning.
- Ensure adherence to corporate, non-profit, or governmental accounting standards as applicable, including double entry bookkeeping principles and account analysis.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Appfolio, yardi, Buildium, QuickBooks, Quicken or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with local governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, tax experience, and accounts payable/receivable management.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail with proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and technical accounting standards such as GAAP is highly desirable. Pay: $30.13 - $36.28 per hour
