About the Opportunity

The Branch Manager will carry out all oversight, management, and strategic direction of the agency. We have no corporate headquarters or traditional management hierarchy. Instead, you will operate independently with support from the “Service Center,” a world-class service team that provides the centralized clinical, legal, risk management, HR, training, accounting, IT, and other resources necessary to allow on-site leaders and caregivers to focus squarely on day-to-day care and business issues of the agency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage operational planning and budgeting, ensuring financial stability
  • Ensure organizational compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict
  • Establishing and maintaining effective, open channels of communication
  • Foster a no-blame culture that encourages reporting of safety and quality of service issues
  • Ensure hospice personnel stay current with clinical information and practices
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing
  • Oversee staff development including orientation, in-service, continuing education, competency testing, and quality assessment performance improvement
  • Ensure supportive services are available to personnel
  • Ensure coordination with other departments, services, and senior management
  • Ensure staff and organization stay current on local and national home health issues and trends
  • Ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are developed and implemented to accomplish identified outcomes
  • Direct staff in the performance of their duties including admission, discharge, transfer, revocation, and provision of service to patients
  • Ensure appropriate staff supervision during all service hours
  • Ensure services provided by other agencies are authorized by hospice
  • Monitor operational progress toward accomplishing operational and strategic goals
  • Ensure appropriate data collection and regular, complete reports are received by the Governing Body
  • Ensure collaboration with agencies and vendors for effective management of services
  • Ensure standards of ethical business and clinical practice are maintained

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of proven leadership experience  demonstrating successful results, required
  • Possess strong financial acumen — ability to manage budgets, and drive profitability
  • Demonstrated sales knowledge with a focus on growth, referral development, and local market engagement
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Experience in home health or hospice is strongly preferred
  • Experience in a Manager, Director or other leadership role required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required - MBA/MHA a plus
