Role Overview

General Manager – Performance Marketing, Social Viewership & Business Development will drive growth across digital and social ecosystems for Network18’s brands. The role combines analytical depth in performance marketing with strategic thinking to scale audience viewership, optimize spends, and build monetizable business opportunities across YouTube, social, and Connected TV (CTV) platforms.


Key Responsibilities

1. Performance Marketing & Growth

  • Lead paid media campaigns across YouTube, Meta, Google, and emerging social platforms to drive reach, watch-time, and retention.
  • Optimize cost per view (CPV), cost per acquisition (CPA), and return on ad spend (ROAS) across all digital campaigns.
  • Build attribution models to measure impact across owned, earned, and paid media.
  • Partner with analytics and product teams to identify growth loops, audience cohorts, and platform algorithms.

2. Social Viewership & Platform Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow social viewership and engagement across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, and other emerging platforms.
  • Benchmark performance against competitors (Lallantop, ScoopWhoop, Brut, etc.) and identify whitespace opportunities.
  • Build an internal social content performance dashboard to track real-time engagement and conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate with editorial, video, and distribution teams to align content strategy with platform insights.

3. Business Development & Monetization

  • Identify and execute new revenue opportunities across performance-driven campaigns, branded content, and IP partnerships.
  • Build partnerships with agencies, brands, and influencer networks for co-branded campaigns and performance-linked deals.
  • Drive commercial ownership of performance marketing budgets and ensure ROI on all digital spends.
  • Develop monetization models for social and CTV platforms (CPV, affiliate, shoppable video, etc.).

4. Analytics, Tools & Technology

  • Deploy advanced analytics tools (Google Analytics 4, YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, etc.) to inform marketing and content decisions.
  • Collaborate with data science teams to create predictive models for virality, retention, and lifetime user value.
  • Track viewership, engagement, and conversion metrics through automated dashboards and BI tools.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a cross-functional team across marketing, insights, and BD functions.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, brand marketing, and ad-sales teams.
  • Foster a test-and-learn culture, encouraging experimentation across creative formats, audience cohorts, and platforms.


Key Skills & Qualifications

  • 9-14 years of experience in performance marketing, digital audience development, or growth strategy roles.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale digital spends and driving measurable audience outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of YouTube, Meta, and programmatic ecosystems.
  • Analytical mindset with strong proficiency in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and analytics dashboards.
  • Ability to translate data insights into strategic content and monetization actions.
