BUSINESS ANALYST JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Office Automation Services is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing data-driven solutions to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, and experience in project management and requirements gathering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Alignment with Project Management

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, requirements, and objectives.

· One of the core responsibilities of a Business Analyst is to gather and document requirements.

· This aligns perfectly with the initial phases of project management where project scope and deliverables are defined

Data Analysis:

· Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

· Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present findings to stakeholders.

Process Improvement:

· Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies.

· Propose and implement solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

Project Management Support:

· Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring projects.

· Develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements, process flows, and user stories.

Stakeholder Communication:

· Act as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and stakeholders.

· Ensure that project goals and deliverables align with business objectives.

Documentation & Reporting:

· Prepare comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), and User Manuals.

· Present updates and findings through regular status reports.

  • Risk Mitigation: Since Business Analysts work closely with stakeholders, they can foresee potential risks and help mitigate them early in the project lifecycle.

Testing & Validation:

· Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

· Validate data integrity and solution effectiveness post-implementation.

2. Supporting the CEO in Customer Interactions

  • Customer-Centric Approach: Business Analysts are trained to understand customer pain points and needs. They conduct interviews, workshops, and focus groups, which are essential skills when supporting a CEO in client meetings.
  • Requirement Gathering & Validation: CEOs often discuss business needs with high-level stakeholders. Business Analysts can convert these discussions into actionable business requirements, which can be handed off to the product, development, or support teams.
  • Solution Proposals: Business Analysts identify and propose solutions to customer problems, helping the CEO offer meaningful, tailored solutions during customer meetings.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Business Analysts gather and analyze customer data, helping the CEO to present key metrics, KPIs, and ROI figures that are relevant to the customer.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Support: BAs often track customer requirements and follow up on progress. This provides CEOs with up-to-date information when engaging with customers.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Experience: 3.5 to 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.

· Experience with ERP, or other enterprise-level systems

· Experience with data analysis tools and project management methodologies.

· Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

· BAs with certifications like CAPM or PMP can transition into project management more easily.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in MS Excel, SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis tools.

· Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA

Soft Skills:

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
