Business Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking an analytical and structured Business Analyst to sit within the Business Operations & Intelligence (BOI) function. This role transforms operational and financial data into clear, evidence-based insights that support leadership decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate can move between quantitative analysis and business narrative — interpreting what the numbers mean, identifying performance gaps, and presenting findings in a way that is relevant to operational and executive stakeholders. This is not a passive reporting role — the Business Analyst is expected to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and produce analysis that drives action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational and financial performance data across the organization's client portfolio — identifying trends, outliers, and early warning signals that require leadership attention
  • Develop and maintain performance scorecards, dashboards, and periodic reports in Power BI and Excel that give leadership a consistent view of organizational health
  • Conduct structured evaluations of business functions, workflows, and resource models — translating findings into clear written assessments with supporting data
  • Collaborate with BOI's data operations layer to define what data is needed, in what format, and at what frequency to support ongoing analytical workstreams
  • Support the development and refinement of the client health scoring model — contributing to the logic, weighting, and interpretation of composite performance indicators
  • Prepare briefing documents, findings summaries, and options analyses for senior leadership — ensuring recommendations are grounded in data, clearly reasoned, and free of unsupported assumptions
  • Participate in cross-functional evaluations when BOI is commissioned to assess a specific department, workflow, or business initiative — bringing analytical rigor to what are often qualitative conversations
  • Track whether recommendations made by BOI result in measurable outcomes — feeding lessons learned back into BOI's analytical frameworks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • More than 5 years of experience in a business analysis, performance management, or management consulting role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint — able to build analytical models and present findings independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work with incomplete or imperfect data and still produce defensible analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex analysis into concise, actionable narratives for non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in a multi-service or shared services environment where multiple business lines operate simultaneously

Desired Skills

  • Exposure to revenue cycle management, healthcare operations, or professional services is an advantage but not required
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (issue trees, hypothesis-driven analysis, root cause analysis)
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments where the scope of analysis evolves based on what the data reveals
  • Familiarity with AI tools and how they can augment analytical workflows — including automated reporting, data summarization, and pattern recognition
