Business Development Associate

Overview

The Business Development Associate (BDA) role sits within Direct Outbound Sales and is a core engine for FlapKap's growth. The BDA is responsible for high-volume outbound prospecting, booking qualified meetings, and conducting initial pre screening of SME clients before handover to a Commercial Manager (CM). This role is designed as both a performance driven sales position and a structured development pathway. BDAs will build strong outbound sales skills, improve financial literacy, and gain hands on exposure to SME financing, with a clear progression route into a Commercial Manager role.

Responsibilities
  • Source, identify, and qualify SME leads across the UAE market using digital tools and data platforms.
  • Conduct high-volume outbound outreach (calls, follow ups, prospecting) to SMEs.
  • Book qualified meetings for Commercial Managers using a structured booking sheet.
  • Maintain and update the CRM with pipeline data, status updates, and conversion metrics.
  • Actively participate in financial and product training.
  • Shadow Commercial Managers on live deals and client interactions.
  • Gradually take on increasing responsibility across the sales and onboarding process as capability develops.
  • Work closely with Commercial Managers to build the skills required to manage the full end to end process, from initial outreach through to disbursement.
  • Contribute ideas, strategies, and market insights to continually improve the sales process.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or lead generation.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong research and digital prospecting skills (LinkedIn, Lusha, Apollo, etc.).
  • High resilience and work ethic - comfortable with volume outreach and rejection.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and self starter attitude.
  • Willingness to be proactive, learn and grow.
  • UAE market knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Finance background and knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory.
