First Servtech Technical Services LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Specialist to join our dynamic team in the UAE. As a mid-level professional, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our engineering services portfolio, which encompasses Instrumentation, Electrical, Flow Metering, I&C contracting, On-site Services, and Industrial Safety Products. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, expanding our client base, and fostering long-term relationships with key stakeholders across various industrial sectors including oil & gas, petrochemical, power & water, marine, district cooling, food, and pharmaceuticals. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and excellent interpersonal skills to promote our calibration, commissioning, and maintenance solutions that enhance operational reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with international standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate client needs into tailored technical proposals, manage tender processes, and support the company's growth objectives through proactive market engagement and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Expansion
- Monitor and track business opportunities such as turnarounds, shutdowns, upgrade programs, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), tenders, and framework agreements to ensure timely pursuit and conversion.
- Identify and qualify prospective clients across operators, utilities, EPCs, OEMs, and industrial plants within the UAE and GCC region, leveraging market intelligence and networking.
- Promote the division’s capabilities, including on-site and laboratory calibration, metering audits, commissioning services for instrumentation, and control system upgrades such as PLC/DCS/SCADA, retrofits, and control automation solutions like VFDs, BMS, and EMS.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring CRM systems and opportunity trackers are current, and actively drive opportunities toward revenue realization.
- Client Relationship Management
- Engage with procurement, maintenance, metering/I&C, and operations teams; establish rapport and liaise effectively with EPCs, OEMs, and consultants to understand client needs.
- Arrange site surveys, deliver technical presentations and demonstrations, and pursue pre-qualification and vendor registration processes with major clients to secure ongoing business.
- Provide dedicated after-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction, foster repeat business, and act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Technical & Product Knowledge
- Maintain working knowledge of instrumentation and calibration standards, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, electrical calibration, gas detection, custody transfer standards (API/AGA/ISO/OIML), and related traceability and uncertainty considerations.
- Develop familiarity with control and automation systems, including PLC/DCS/SCADA architectures, I/O lists, P&IDs, protocols (HART, Modbus, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus), and commissioning procedures.
- Translate client requirements into clear, technically sound scopes of work, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards, as well as client specifications.
- Tendering & Documentation
- Monitor procurement portals and channels; handle pre-qualification, vendor registration, and bidding processes in coordination with the proposals team.
- Support the preparation of techno-commercial proposals, including method statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), datasheets, schedules, and resource plans, ensuring compliance with HSE and quality standards.
- Negotiate commercial terms and assist in finalizing AMCs and long-term service agreements to secure profitable contracts.
- Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with calibration labs, on-site service teams, and automation engineers to develop comprehensive techno-commercial offers and technical presentations.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports, tracking key performance indicators such as new accounts, revenue growth, and profit margins.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including tasks, leads, opportunities, and follow-ups, while providing insights into market trends and competitor activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control, Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or a strong technical sales background in instrumentation, calibration, or control & automation.
- 3 to 6 years of proven Business Development experience within instrumentation measurement, calibration, control, or automation sectors, preferably within the UAE/GCC markets.
- Deep understanding of the client ecosystem in the UAE/GCC, including operators, utilities, EPCs, and OEMs.
- Demonstrated success in tendering, negotiation, and closing deals; proficient in MS Office applications, CRM tools, and technical documentation preparation.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Domain Expertise: Practical knowledge in either Instrumentation & Calibration or Control & Automation; cross-domain awareness is advantageous.
- Sales & Business Development: A proactive hunter mindset focused on acquiring new clients, expanding existing accounts, and achieving revenue and margin targets.
- Networking & Relationship Building: Ability to establish and nurture relationships across the oil & gas, power & water, utilities, and process industries.
