Business Development Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential partnerships and untapped market segments to drive growth
  • Develop and execute business development strategies aimed at expanding Waffarha’s product revenue streams and overall market share
  • Collaborate with F&B, Entertainment, and Lifestyle service providers to transform innovative ideas into impactful offerings, negotiating win-win terms and ensuring mutual success
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Tech, Sales, and other departments to develop partnerships that resonate with our target audience and support long-term business goals
  • Stay updated with industry trends, competitors, and customer insights to develop relevant, innovative, and competitive solutions
  • Create and manage strategic alliances and long-term relationships with key partners to ensure sustainable collaboration and growth
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with prospective partners, ensuring favorable outcomes and alignment with business objectives
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitor activities, and industry trends to proactively recommend and implement growth strategies
  • Align closely with the commercial team on partnership models, expected margins, and ensure accurate reflection of terms in all contractual agreements
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering a results-driven, high-performance culture within the business development function

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field (MBA or postgraduate studies are a plus)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or commercial leadership roles
  • Proven experience in identifying, negotiating, and closing high-value partnerships
  • Industry background in [FMCG, Fintech, E-commerce, Entertainment, or Lifestyle sectors] is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial models, contract structures, and partnership frameworks
  • Strong understanding of the company's products or services and target market.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to assess market dynamics and develop effective go-to-market and partnership strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to pitch ideas clearly and confidently
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and manage cross-functional initiatives
