- Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM) • Department: Commercial • Reports to: Country Manager (Business Development) • Issue - Review Date: 1/1/2025 - 1/6/2025 • PURPOSE STATEMENT: Lead business development team, drive sales, expand market presence. Manage and mentor team, ensure sales targets are met for Construction- Tech/B2B Marketplace. Focus on customer acquisition, revenue generation, partnerships, market expansion, team performance, sales processes, and development. • ABOUT BUILDMATE: At BuildMate, our journey began with a simple idea: to make life easier for contractors and suppliers in Saudi Arabia’s construction industry. This is our story, and we’re just getting started. Together, we’re shaping the future of construction. • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: o Team Leadership & Performance: Build, lead, mentor team. Set targets, KPIs. Conduct training, coaching, reviews. Develop sales strategies, playbooks. Foster results-driven culture. o Business Development & Sales: Execute sales strategies for lead generation, conversion, revenue. Engage contractors, suppliers, rental companies for platform onboarding. Negotiate and close enterprise deals. Oversee sales pipeline. Drive early monetization with Country Manager. o Customer Acquisition & Market Expansion: Develop targeted sales campaigns. Identify new opportunities, trends. Assist Country Manager in KSA/GCC expansion. Align sales with marketing campaigns. o Relationship Management & Customer Success: Build relationships with clients/partners. Oversee customer onboarding. Monitor feedback, collaborate with product teams. Implement retention strategies. o Strategic Partnerships & Market Intelligence: Establish partnerships. Conduct competitor analysis. Provide insights on pricing, pain points, market conditions. Represent BM at events. o Reporting & Data-Driven Decision Making: Track/report sales performance, team productivity, metrics. Analyze CRM data. Provide reports to Country Manager. Refine strategies based on trends/feedback. o Governance: Develop strategic roadmap for growth. Ensure adherence to policies/ethics. Refine department policies/SOPs. • PERFORMANCE METRICS: Revenue Growth, Customer Acquisition, Market Penetration, Sales Team Performance, Customer Retention, Partnership Growth, Conversion Rates. • KEY FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: o Internal: Sr. Business Developer, Country Manager, Engineering Support Sales Coordinator, CEO. o External: Contractors, Building Materials Suppliers, Heavy Equipment Materials Suppliers.
Requirements
- PERSON SPECIFICATION: o Education: Bachelor's in Business, Marketing, Commerce or related. o Experience: Min 7+ years B2B sales/BD/commercial leadership (preferably construction, SaaS, marketplace). Proven track record. Strong knowledge of KSA/GCC construction/materials/rental markets.
