How You’ll Make an Impact

Dudek is seeking a proactive and strategic Business Development Manager to support client and market sector strategies. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives on expanding market presence and driving strategic business development across multiple geographies and sectors including energy, water, and federal.
As a key member of our Marketing and Business Development team, you will translate strategy into execution, supporting multi-disciplinary teams and implementing client-centric programs that differentiate Dudek in competitive markets. You will serve as a visible ambassador of our brand, enabling strong client connections and supporting opportunities for growth across diverse service areas.

Candidates in Denver, Seattle, Portland, and Phoenix strongly preferred, but will consider candidates in California.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Support

    • Facilitate meetings with internal teams to advance opportunities and partnerships.
    • Facilitate Dudek presence at select conferences and client and industry events to support client connections with appropriate technical experts.
    • Facilitate pre- and post-event follow-up, ensuring meaningful client interactions and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
    • Coordinate attendance at select client meetings and events such as consultant industry day events, pre-proposal meetings, professional organizations, and board meetings etc.
    • Ensure CRM data integrity by maintaining accurate and timely updates to client records, opportunities, and interactions
    • Maintain and report client-engagement metrics including touchpoint frequency, relationship stage progression, win/loss and key client advancement

    Strategic Business Development

    • Lead strategic capture planning and Go/No-Go decision-making for pursuits.
    • Maintain and update the CRM and opportunity pipeline to support proactive pursuit planning.
    • Collaborate with client champions and subject matter experts (SMEs) to align business development efforts with Sector and Business Plans.

    Market Intelligence and Expansion

    • Conduct market research to identify trends, funding mechanisms, and service gaps.
    • Evaluate professional organizations, conferences, and events that align with growth goals.
    • Collaborate with SMEs to pursue thought leadership presentations at key conferences and events.
    • Support the introduction of new services tailored to client needs and regulatory landscapes.

    Marketing and Collateral Development

    • Coordinating with marketing and creative teams to develop strategic marketing collateral, including brochures, and digital content that resonate with local audiences.
    • Partner with creative and digital teams to execute targeted campaigns that elevate Dudek’s visibility in current and emerging markets.
    • Support writing, managing and QA/QC for proposal development and pre-qualification submissions.

    Internal Collaboration and Leadership

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for marketing activities, building trust and coordinating across the business to support evolving needs.
    • Facilitate business development meetings focused on sectors, client relationship management, teaming strategies and conferences.
    • Foster team collaboration, support recruiting efforts, and inform market strategy.
    • Collaborate with SMEs and client champions to identify and pursue strategic opportunities across service lines.
    • Track and maintain client touchpoints and project opportunities in Vantagepoint CRM.
    • Provide CRM guidance and training to technical team on CRM usage, pipeline management, and data entry standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in AEC marketing and business development, with regional or national scope.
  • Strong industry network in one or more of our markets
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Deltek Vantagepoint, AI platforms, and online meeting tools.
  • Exceptional business writing skills that articulate concepts with clarity.
  • Adept at handling concurrent long-term projects and short-term deadlines.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and external clients.
  • Self-driven and deadline-oriented, successful in independent work environments.
  • Flexible hybrid work approach and experience working in both remote and in-office environments.
  • Ability to travel, with a requirement of approximately 20% travel.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience supporting business development efforts across multiple market sectors (e.g., energy, water, environmental, transportation, or federal programs) within an AEC or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated involvement in capture strategy development for complex pursuits, including coordination across technical, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Familiarity with public-sector procurement processes, including RFQ/RFP pursuits, qualifications-based selection (QBS), or alternative delivery methods.
  • Experience partnering with technical subject matter experts to position services, shape opportunities, and develop client engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of regional funding programs, regulatory drivers, or infrastructure investment trends influencing AEC markets.
  • Experience supporting or facilitating cross-regional growth initiatives or expanding services into new geographic markets.
  • Background contributing to strategic pursuits, thought leadership initiatives, conference strategy, or industry visibility efforts aligned with business development goals.
  • Experience mentoring staff or informally guiding teams on business development best practices, client engagement, or CRM adoption.
  • Familiarity with data-driven business development practices, including pipeline analytics, win/loss analysis, or client engagement tracking.
  • Experience working within an employee-owned (ESOP) or consulting firm environment, supporting collaborative and relationship-driven growth cultures.
  • Candidate proximate to Denver, Phoenix, Seattle, or Portland.

Compensation: $119,000-$137,000 annually*

  • Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.

Working Conditions


  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job requires occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.
