Business Development Manager

Position Summary

Safe Haven Defense US is seeking a new Business Development Manager in California to drive strategic growth through targeted acquisition of new customers across diverse vertical markets. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities by delivering value-driven security solutions tailored to customer needs. The successful candidate is a proven sales leader with deep industry knowledge, a strong network within their regional market, and a passion for building long-term client relationships. This is a salaried, exempt position (not eligible for overtime) and eligible for commission on each closed contract. This individual will work closely with senior leadership, operations, and field assessors to ensure each proposal is accurate, timely, and aligned with the customer’s specific needs. Collaboration across internal departments is essential to delivering comprehensive solutions and maintaining Safe Haven Defense US’s high standard of service and responsiveness.


Key Responsibilities


  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in your designated regional market.
  • Develop account strategies, goals, objectives, and action plans for assigned territory.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow a robust pipeline of qualified prospects across verticals.
  • Lead all phases of the sales process—from initial contact and needs analysis through proposal development, negotiation, and contract closing.
  • Deliver consultative sales strategies that highlight Safe Haven Defense’s unique value proposition and product capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (field assessors, operations, and leadership) to develop and present client-specific security solutions.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive analysis to inform corporate strategy.
  • Represent Safe Haven Defense at industry events, trade shows, and relevant association meetings.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecast sales activity, and report regularly to the Director of Sales.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Residency & Travel Requirements


  • Must reside in the corresponding market.
  • Regular travel required throughout the assigned market for client meetings, site visits, and presentations.
  • Quarterly travel required to Safe Haven Defense US Corporate Headquarters for strategy and team alignment.


Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree
    and at least 5 years of successful experience selling security solutions within the corresponding market,
  • OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of successful experience selling security solutions within the corresponding market.


Preferred Experience


  • Demonstrated success in new business development across sectors including:

o Education (K-12 and Higher Ed)

o Government (local, state, and federal)

o Corporate and Industrial Enterprises:

§ Healthcare

§ Technology

§ Financial Services

§ Logistics & Distribution

§ Data Centers

§ Automotive

§ Manufacturing

§ Retail (including Grocery)

§ Construction


  • Experience with long sales cycles, complex decision-making processes, and public sector procurement.
  • Familiarity with security and safety compliance requirements relevant to target industries.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills tailored to executive audiences.
  • Ability to build trust quickly and manage high-stakes client relationships.
  • Skilled in CRM use (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and pipeline management.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively.
