We have an opportunity for Operation Excellence for our chemical plant located in Berigai, Hosur.


Location : Berigai


Experience : 8 – 15 years


JOB SUMMARY:

To lead and institutionalize continuous improvement across the organization by deploying Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies. This role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, safety, and cost competitiveness through loss identification, loss eradication and loss prevention in a structured way with the involvement of all the stakeholders.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Operational Excellence:

  • Develop and deploy the Operational Excellence roadmap aligned with business and plant strategies.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to track performance, monitor project outcomes, and highlight areas for further improvement.
  • Drive Loss Identification, Eradication, and Prevention across all operational areas by conducting structured assessments and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Analyze and categorize operational losses (productivity, quality, material, time, energy, process, people-related) using tools like Loss Tree, Pareto, and RCA.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to address chronic issues and deliver measurable results in cost, quality, delivery, and safety.
  • Collaborate with leadership and functional teams to prioritize improvement areas and enable strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate kaizen events, improvement projects, value stream mapping (VSM), and 5S to eliminate waste and optimize processes.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement by coaching employees and managers, and delivering training on Lean, TPM, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Support digitalization, automation, and data-driven decision-making initiatives to improve operational visibility and responsiveness.
  • Ensure sustainability of improvements through standardization, documentation, audits, and change management practices.


OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY :

  • Know the work safe safety requirements that apply to the work and ensure that are followed.
  • Aware of all known or reasonably foreseeable health and safety hazards where they work
  • Adhere to OH&S Compliances and implement the correctives action at work place.
  • Consult and cooperate with the Occupational Health and Safety Committee members, and cooperate with others carrying out occupational health and safety duties.
  • Follow policy and objective at work place.



Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Lean, Six Sigma (added advantage), TPM, 5S, and process improvement tools.
  • Working knowledge of loss analysis frameworks, root cause analysis (RCA), and failure mode & effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Digital mindset with experience using tools like Power BI, Excel, Visio, Minitab, or equivalent.
  • Ability to lead change, influence cross-functional teams, and deliver under pressure.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Operations, or Business (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 8 to 15 years of experience in operational excellence, manufacturing, or supply chain roles.
  • Proven track record in driving cost savings, efficiency improvements, and waste elimination initiatives.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (added advantage).


Accountability

  • % reduction in identified losses (material, time, quality, energy, etc.).
  • Number and impact of completed improvement projects (cost savings, productivity gains).
  • 5S audit scores
  • Suggestions / Kaizens implemented.
  • Operational Excellence maturity level improvements across departments.
  • Number of employees trained or certified in Continuous Improvement tools.
