General Description and Classification Standards:
City of Atlanta is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Business System Analyst (BSA) to support the analysis, design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of multiple software applications that enable critical governmental operations. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
The Business Systems Analyst analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. This is an experienced professional level capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the profession with limited guidance or review. This level would be considered a promotional level and attainable by any incumbents in a work group who demonstrate the necessary knowledge, ability and performance. This role may be the only professional in this specialty in a work group.

Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or a senior level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
Configure system settings and options.
Plan and execute business unit, integration and acceptance testing.
Provide prompt responses to customer issues and service requests.
Resolve application configuration/permissions/technical issues impeding customers from performing their duties.
Escalate issues to other IT resources and/or external vendors as needed.
Provide clear/timely communication to customers re: issues and service requests.
Create specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
Design details of automated systems.
Maintain documentation repositories to ensure knowledge sharing.
May provide consultation to customers regarding automated systems.
Decision Making
Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or senior level.
Leadership Provided
Informal or review. May be informal team leader or may review work of less experienced professionals or support staff.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

ERP work experience preferable with Time Clock Plus (TCP) time clocks, SQL data, Oracle Time & Labor (OTL), Docusign, Adobe Enterprise, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Power BI and other reporting tools, Chatbot, MS Dynamics, Office 365.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience -
Licensures and Certifications – None.
Preferred Requirements -
Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
Microsoft certifications are a plus.
Work Environment:

Lifting Requirements:
Light work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
