In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. Supports the implementation of IT initiatives and technical improvement efforts. Responsible for managing the elicitation, collection, analysis, and documentation and redesign of multiple business processes and requirements, as well as driving the business towards optimal technical solutions. Responsibilities are for one or more small to medium sized IT projects with moderate complexity.
- Serves as a liaison across organizations for process improvement, business processes and systems integration. Consults with and actively engaged with customers to ensure optimal utilization of existing information technologies.
- Assesses customer needs on medium complexity initiatives (efforts/projects) projects utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommends options, risks and cost vs benefits.
- Leads the development and communication of business requirements to the IT community for the design and implementation of business solutions including Statement Of Work (SOWs) with suppliers.
- Follows defined IT project management processes, standards, and procedures. Provides process feedback supporting potential improvement opportunities.
- Develops and maintains role specific IT project-related documentation (e.g., Business Requirements Document, process models, basic to intermediate conceptual data models, specifications, diagrams, and charts, as needed).
- Assist in and conduct research on products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts.
- Participates in project control and monitoring of day-to-day work including supplier relationships, as well as any special projects that may arise as a result of changing business requirements to ensure traceability of requirements throughout product lifecycle.
- Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, reviewed quality acceptance test plan and ensures that expected business results are adequately tested/achieved, and the remaining risks are acceptable.
- Makes effective use of and participates in the identification of improvements in business analysis practices, principles, and tools. Utilizes process improvement techniques such as six sigma tools and SEI-CMM processes.
- Supports and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, customers, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline with or Certification or a minimum of 2 years of experience in business analysis, process modeling / improvements in computing systems deployment, IT project management, or computer related technical activities.
- Two or more years in a technical execution role or experience in business analysis, process modeling / improvements supporting IT projects.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Prefer iiBA Certification a plusor SCRUM Certified Product Owner (CPO)
- Experience with use of business process reengineering, business modeling concepts or knowledgeable in use of other techniques to support process improvement.
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment.
