Role Overview:
The Business Unit Head – Engineering, Sales & Business Development is a leadership role, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality technical support, solution design, and post-sales service to customers. The role is strategic and operational, involving leadership across engineering functions, product integration, and customer technical support, while aligning closely with the sales and product management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product & Technical Oversight
· Lead the promotion and technical positioning of solutions such as:
o MCBs, MCCBs, ACBs, contactors, relays
o Energy meters, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs
o Structured cabling, wiring devices, lightning protection and earthing
o Integrated BMS and SCADA systems
· Coordinate with technical teams for product training, solution engineering, and pre-sales support.
· Evaluate technical specifications for tenders and large projects, ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, and local standards.
· Develop and manage strong relationships with authorized distributors, system integrators (SIs), panel builders, and OEM partners across domestic and international markets.
· Coordinate sales, marketing, and supply chain activities with distribution partners.
· Ensure alignment of distributors with brand guidelines and compliance requirements.
· Define and implement strategic plans to drive growth of the engineering product portfolio.
· Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
· Drive large-scale project wins by working closely with consultants, EPCs, and end-users.
· Set KPIs, monitor performance, and implement improvement plans as needed.
· Drive sales targets across regions for aligned product line & Identify new business opportunities, product expansions, and channel development.
· Lead and mentor a team of product managers, sales engineers, and support staff.
· Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and partner agreements
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or
related field.
MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in the electrical distribution, industrial
automation, or building systems industry.
At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-brand product portfolios and
channel networks.
Hands-on experience working with or distributing brands like Schneider Electric,
Honeywell, Legrand, or DEHN is highly preferred
Technical Competencies:
Deep knowledge of LV/MV switchgear, automation systems, energy management,
building control systems, and digital electrical infrastructure.
Familiarity with SCADA, Modbus, BACnet and IoT platforms.
Strong command of electrical codes and standards (IEC, ANSI/NEMA, IEEE).
