The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Looking for a dynamic individual to lead and oversee all purchasing, receiving storage, inventory control and internal record keeping for the Food and Nutrition Department at the Morris. Experience of ordering and maintaining inventory in a healthcare establishment. Knowledgeable in Joint commission and DOH practices.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent coursework in Business preferred
  • 2–3 years of experience in restaurant or institutional food service

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with inventory ORI procedures and invoices is preferred.
  • 2–3 years’ Experience in healthcare food service operation
  • Certifications and Licenses Required
  • Serv-Safe

Scheduling Requirements

  • Shift working: 6:30am-3:00pm each day
  • Monday–Friday, Weekends as needed
  • FT/PD

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain employee schedules, oversee the receiving area and staff, including training, hiring and performance management
  • Complete all purchasing of food supplies, paper products, nutritional supplements, cleaning supplies, etc. in line with department policies, procedures and specifications meeting GPO compliance.
  • Accurately post invoices and price changes to the ORI book daily, ensuring completion by the end of each shift.
  • Participate in a monthly physical inventory of all food and non-food items, calculate and submit results to the Systems coordinator.
  • Train receiver / utility and other assigned employees according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Report order discrepancies to the Chef/ Purchasing Manager and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage the systematic bidding process for fresh produce
  • Oversee all receiving processes to ensure products are delivered and received according to delivery receipts specifications and proper weights, enforcing all HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper purchasing and issuing of supplies to various hospital departments
  • Maintain sanitation standards for all refrigerators, freezers, storage and supply areas according to policies and procedures complying with local codes.
  • Foster positive guest relations by maintaining a good rapport and cooperative working relationships with all guest employees, supervisors, external contacts and patients.
  • Attend departmental meetings and in services
