In this position...
As a Engine Components Buyer, you will be responsible for critical components such as Composite Cam Covers, Intake Manifolds, Foam Components, Oil Pans, Engine Covers, Sealing Components, Plastics, Metal Components, etc. across various programs. Your expertise will drive strategic direction, sourcing execution, and productivity initiatives (Total Value Management - TVM), ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality plastic & foam parts to Ford Engine and Transmission Plants. This role demands a proactive approach to supplier relationship management and a keen eye for market trends, working collaboratively with Product Development (PD), Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) to achieve aggressive Year-over-Year (YoY) cost, quality, and on-time delivery (OTD) targets.


  • Bachelor’s degree with Supply Chain or Technical focus
  • 5+ years of automotive part procurement experience
  • Ability to work well in a fast environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Validated strategic and creative problem-solving abilities
  • A history of leading change in a constantly evolving environment
  • Tenure building/maintaining cross functional relationships with internal and external partners
  • Able to think holistically, analyze the situation at hand, and overcome obstacles to deliver balanced business results

This position is a range of salary grades SG5 - SG8 .

  • Drive financial performance by managing and optimizing cost, quality, and materials efficiencies through the application of TVM principles across the program lifecycle
  • Ensure Supply Chain Excellence & Resiliency by analyzing market supply/demand balances and proactively identify deficit risks, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted production
  • Lead sourcing execution within Ford's internal sourcing processes, serving as the point of view owner for all program-specific sourcing decisions.
  • Implement robust sourcing strategies for your commodity category, delivering a balanced portfolio of material that meets Ford’s stringent requirements for capacity, cost, timing, and quality
  • Manage and cultivate strong relationships with existing and future suppliers, conducting regular supplier performance reviews focusing on cost, quality (Q1 / PPM), delivery (OTD), and financial health
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development to understand the latest supply base footprint, assess supplier financial health ratings, evaluate emerging technologies, and anticipate industry trends
